London Most Senior Black Police Officer?

Courts Correspondent Paul Cheston of the evening standard today wrote a article published on the front page of the London Evening Standard. The first line of article read “London’s most senior black police man was today convicted of misconduct and trying to pervert the course of justice.” Intrigued by the headline and having read enough of the article my eyes scanned the front page for firstly the image and secondly for the words.. article continued on page three. Low and behold the image on the front page was a white man of Iraqi ethnic origin.  I had to do a double take because I thought that the image was relating to a separate article. Am I the only one who found this both ignorant and offensive?
